He was born in Dewitt county Texas, and came to Nebraska in 1878 He is serving his fourth term a: mayor of this city. Pontiff Will Issue Peace Proclamation London, Dee. 15. A Zurich dis patch to the Tageblatt of Berlin, aa forwarded from Copenhagen by the Exchange Telegraph company, say that in response to the peace note of the central powers to the Vatican, , the pope in few daya will issue a Christmas proclama tion to all the belligerents. ! The action was brought by John A. Beebe, a local bidder for the paving job. The Geiger company was the lowest bidder and the county board let the contract to the Kansans. It will now be necessary for the commissioners either to readvertise or let the contract to the next low est bidder, which in this case is the Hugh Murphy Construction company.
