Patrons Four Good Bills
Hipp offers its patrons four changes
of program for the week. Starting to
day the offering is Fremont Nelson
and Arthur Ashley in "The Revolt."
The production comes under the
World banner and is produced by

Wednesday Mary I'ickford returns in
onr of her best characterizations,
"Hulda from Holland." The story
made an exceptional impression when
shown here previously. Thursday
Florence Turner wilt be seen in
"Grim Justice," picturized in five acts
from the famous novel by Rita. "How
Molly Made Good" is the feature for
Friday and Saturday. In this picture
are seen twelve of filmdom's bright

Peters is presented in a feature called
"The Rail Rider." With this is shown
"Weapons of War and Historic St.

addition to this is Carter De Haven in
"He Becomes a Cop." Wednesday,
'Phillip Smalley and Mary Mac Laren

wThe Supreme Sacrifice," showing
at the Lyric today offers Robert
Warwick, an opportunity to display
his dramatic powers to their fullest

Carlyle Blackwell will be the star
performer at the Monroe today and
Monday, when he appears with Ethel

Charlie Chaplin, the Mutual comed
ian, is showing today in "The Vaga
bond," one of his latest productions.
There will be good feature on the
same bill and also some scenic pic
tures. Tuesday, the feature is "A
Flaw in the Evidence," with this is a
comedy. "Stinger Stung," See America
First and a comedy drama "Movie
Struck." Wednesday, Florence Tur
' nr is presented in a five-reel picture
called "Far from the Maddening

South Side Orpheum Will
Present Many Stars This Week
Among the stars appearing at the
South Side Orpheum this week is Wil
ton l.ackaye, Douglas Fairbanks and
Frank Keenan. Today's bill is "A
Flaw in the Evidence'' and "Rolling
to Ruin."' Monday Wilton Lackaye
is seen in a Fox feature entitled "The
Children of Ghetto;" comedy is also
shown. Tuesday the program includes
"Fatty's Tintype Tangle" and the
Weekly. Wednesday the serial, "Fan
tomas, is shown with "l eading Liz
zy Astray," "See America" and "Mak
ing Things Hum." Thursday Doug
las Fairbanks is presented in a Tri
angle picture. "Flirting with Kate."

Empress Program for Week
Has High Spot Features
Frank Mayo and .Marie tmpress,
the new shining stars of the movies,
are featured in the photoplay "A Les

week. The Vogue comedy is present
ing a new two-recler with Paddy Mc
Guire in the lead. The name of the
new comedy is "Doctoring a Leak,"
and it affords new comedy situations.
The interesting Mutual weekly is

so-called reissues of Mary Pickford
successes the one presented at the
Empress for the last part of the week
entitled, "Iola's Romance," is one; of

"That Pesky Parrot" and "Payment
in Full," are also on the program. For
the balance of the week the Besse will

Virginia Pearson at Farnam;
Star in "A Tortured Heart"
In a quaintasetting of an old-fashioned
southern church is enacted a
scene of pretty effect in the photo
play, "A Tortured Heart," showing
at the Farnam theater today. Vir
ginia Pearson carries the stellar role
of Lucile Darrell, a wealthy unmar
ried woman, and she is supported by
Stuart Holmes. The story portrays
the evils of gossip in small town com
munities. Monday Mme. Petrova, the
Russian emotional actress, comes in
"The Heart of a Painted Woman."
This is a Metro production carrying
a strong moral lesson. Tuesday's
presentation is "The Prince and the
Pauper," a Paramount production fea
turing Marguerite Clark.
