tion with a very representative body
of men, coming from all the big cit
ies In the land.

Valley Medical society and many othera.
A notable feature of the convention
work In Omaha la that all the national
conventiona held here had record attend
ances. The Letter Carriers totalled L3.A
aa against their record year of 1.300 In
Rochester, to say nothing of the 125
men In the letter carriers' bands that
came to Omaha during the convention.
Breaks Alt Records.
The Travelers' Protective association,
with Its attendance of 1,100, broke all
prevloua records.
"These record attendances," eaye Man
ager Fairish of the bureau of publicity,
"are due to two things; first, the na
tural geographic location of Omaha, and,
second, the Intensive way In which we go
after the conventiona by a system of In
vltatlona and correspondence long before
the convention date."
Already the bureau has twenty-four
conventions booked for 1918. This number

charter and not subject to an election.

Harry Wohler, grocer. Is defendant In
a suit for $2,500 damages filed In district
court by Mrs. Anna Kennedy, who aJ
legea that he willed a can which ahe aent
to his store by her 11-year-old son, with
gasoline Instead of kerosene.
Aa the result of an explosion of the
gasoline, Mrs. Kennedy alleges she was
severely burned and Inhaled flamee of
burning gasoline.

Lett. 3011 Webster street, died Friday
morning of diphtheria. A brother Is re
ported to be sor'ously 111 with the same
dlaeaae.
Fifty-nine -conventions were held
in Omaha during 1915, according to
records kept bjr the bureau of pub
licity. A total or 2,389 delegates from
out-of-town were enrolled in these
reinventions.
