In his address t.pfore the House of Commons this afternoon Premier Asquith stated that Field Marshal Sir John French, cmmander of the British forces on the Franco-Belgian front, was now lu command of nearly 1,000,000 men. Mr. Asquith said the total casualties lu France and Flanders amounted to 377,000. He asserted the Germans bad not made a net gain of a foot of tround since April.
