Although sailers held on for the best
part of the forenoon, they were unable
to better prices to any noticeable extent.

market for coffee futures was easier
again today under scattered selling which
appeared to come partly from trade
sources and which may have been In
fluenced by reports of a sagging ten
dency tn the cost and freight market.
The market opened at a decline of 3 to
3 points. September was relatively
steady on aome covering after the irreg
ularity of yesterday's market, but there
was no general demand of consequence
and the market cloaed at a net loss of 4
to 12 points, with December selling at
S.Oln and May at C.28n during the after
noon, tSales were U.600 bags. September,
4.04c ; October, 9.01c; November, 6.01c; De- .
cember, 8.0lc; January. C.Otic; February.
