SINGLE RUN GIVES VICTOEY
BOSTON. July 28. Chicago's sharp
fielding today held the Red Sox runless,
notwithstanding Scott's erTatlo pitching,
while tha White Sox scored a single run.
This came In the third Inning when
Schalk, who had singled and had reached
second on a sacrifice, scored from that
base after Scott hit to right field, Thomas
falling to hold Hooper's throw to the
plate. Boston had several opportunities
to score, which plays by Felsch, E. Col
lins and Blackburne checked.
