Tia received a letter from B. M. Cox,
vice president of the Bank of Ragan,
stating that It will be necessary to have
about thirty extra, harvest hands the
last of thla week to help harvest the
wheat crop around that city, and asking
him for information aa to where they

Anto Thieves Bvar.
" Automobile thieves are still plying their
vocation In Lincoln and last night a ma
chine belonging to Charles Chaney of
Havelock was taken from in front of the
Oliver theater while the owner was tak
ing tn the show. Two young men about
IS years of age were" observed by the
owner to have watched him as he entered
the theater, but he thought nothing of
It at the time. The machine was a
Bulck, 1915 model No. 17. flve-passengcr,
and the number was 81,793 Neb.
The police have had some trouble
prosecuting auto thieves here because of
the tendency of those who have suffered
to. refuse to prosecute when It was dis
covered that the thieves were sons of
well-to-do parents of the city and that
'the taking of ..the " machines were not
'breaking the law," but simply "boyish
', pranks." "
