Prospects of better weather for Kansas harvest and there fore a Quicker movement ot the new crop, brought about a fall In the prloe of wheat today notwithstanding an upturn at the start. Quotations closed heavy, t fiSHc under Saturday night's level. Corn finished unchanged to Ho up, oats vary ing from He off to NtrVrO gain, and pro visions at liwiuc decline. Professional speculators - were conspic uous In free selling that began aa soon as wheat was found to have only a scat tered kind of support. Advices that rain delays to cutting In the southwest would procaoiy not turn out so serious as at the opening of the session appeared most likely, gave tha bears a decided advan tage. Besides cable bldg exporters on this side seemed to be entirely out of line, regardleas of early diapatches that told of an advance In the Liverpool market. Some rallying power was shown by wheat when late Oi the day a falling off of 2,327,000 bushels was reported In the weekly total of the United States visible supply. The effect on traders, though, quickly disappeared, and values in the end were wlthla quarter of a cent of the lowest point of the session. Corn advanced sharply owing 'to bull ish crop conditions over the greater part of the belt. Later the weakness ot wheat Induced a good many holders to realise, but the undertone of the market con tinued firm. Oata were enly partly sus tained by word of good foreign demand at tha seaboard. Spreaders buylits; July and selling September made tha market very uneven. Holders of provisions unloaded on ac count of signs that packers were deter mined to get a cheap supply of hogs.
