Grimes Dies After
Casting His Ballot
J. W. Grimes. 2121 Burdett street, died
st his home Tuesday morning, immedi
ately after -returning home from the
polls. Mr. Grimes was ST years of sge
snd a nVrsonal friend of Mayor Dahl
man. He had lived In Omaha hpt on
year, having come here from Beatrice,
where he resided for more than twenty
five years.
Mr. Grimes had been ailing for about
two montha and hia death is supposed
to have resulted from a suffocating
spell, to which he had been subjected
for some time. He was a member of
tha Grand Army of the Republic, and
had served under General Custer.
Hurvvlng him are his widow, two
sons and a daughter. No funeral ar
rangements have been mad.
