president of the Brooklyn Federal
League club, shortly before nckm- to
day that Kauf f would not be permit
ted to play in the National league at
this time. Mis telegram to Mr. Ward
waa as follows:
Answering your wire of yesterday
relative to the Kauff incident you are
apprised that the player In queatton will
not b permitted to play In th National
league at this time.

team by contract, but he Is an outlawed

President B. B. Johnson of the Ameri
can league said:
"Kauff Is 1 Ineligible to play with New
Tork or any other team In organized base
ball. According to the rules he would
