CATTLE Receipts were
morning for a Tuesday, onlv ninety-three
cars Imlng reported In. This makes the
receipt for the two dav this week 2,641
head, being less than half a many aa a
week agu and only about a Quarter a
much aa a year ago.
On account of the light receipt yester
day and today buyers were a little mnre
anxious for cattle, and while the market
waa not especially active there waa a
somewhat freer movement than on some
day of late. The prices paid were strong
to 10c higher than Monday on both steer
and cow stuff, and the bulk of the offer
ing charged hands In good season. Ad
vice from other selling point were not
at all favorable, most markets being
quoted as no better than steady, with
others actually weaker, so that any
strength shown by the market at this
point may be taken a the direct result
of light receipts locally, and not due to
any general Improvement, in the trade at
other points.
There were hardly enough stackers or
feeders in sight to make a market and
