at 115,000,000 bu. The (treat drawback to
the movement of wheat out of southern
hemisphere ports Is a lack of ships. There)
have been torrential rains In that coun

losses will result from these heavy down
pours. The amount of grain will not be
lessened by wet weather, but it will ba a
matter of loss In quality.
It is expected that the visible supply of
wheat will show a further decrease to
day, and that It will only ba a few weeks
until the decreases will ba more pro
nounced. This falling off In aurpllet will
rause foreigners to become morn and
mora anxious to secure breadstuff, and
this may possibly mean much hither
price levels.
The export business In cash com has
been liberal, and from tha rumors cur
rent In grain circles, they are likely to
not only continue liberal, but to Improve.
In the absence of available supplies of
wheat Is r ire enough to meet th wants
of Importing countries), they are not
piirehaalnfg corn in a liberal manner.
Country offerings of oats were reported
as smaller.
The provision situation will continue to
hinge on the run of hogs at western
points. Packers are likely to market con
siderably on any strength In prices.
Clearances were: Wheat and flour equal
to 1,272,000 bushels; corn, 43,000 bushels
and oats, 117,000 bushels.
Liverpool closed with com 4d higher.
Primary wheat receipts were l,23ti,000
bushels and shipments of (75.000 bushels,
against receipts of 1.144.000 bushels ana
shipments of 3X1,009 bushels last year.
Primary corn receipts were 3,530,000
bushels and shipments of 1,012,000 bushels,
against receipts of 1.262,000 bushels and

CATTE Receipts were vary liberal this
morning and tnera were very aiseabla
runs at most all points. At tha same
time there was a fair buying demand, so
that the market as a whole did not show
much change as compared with last week.
Beef steers were a little Slow and sell
ers worked hard to get a little more
money for heir- holdings, but buyers did
not seem Inclined to advance last week's
tig urea, Tha mum was true of cows and
heifers, the market on that class of
stock opening In about the same notches
as last week. The demand for 1 seders wss
not very sctlve, ln fact tha market was
rather dull, even for tha good kinds,
and no better than steady.
The market on killers closed slow and
weak, buicher stock especially being very
weak, with the tendency downward. Feed-,
ers closed not only slow, but as much as
10c lower In most cases.

HOGS cu, plies were fslr for a Mondar
and when ad vices from otner points caiua
a little lower, local packers mado tuelr
first bids at figures tnat wero anyway a
nickel tower than Saturday, bhlppers
were not doing a thing and tha autire
receipts were left at the disposal of tho
killers. Psckars stuck to their early of
fers for soms time, but nothing inOved
on this hakls and before anyone started
to out loose, bias had been raised until
they wore fully steady with Saturday's
packer market. Movement started out dull
at steauy prices, but befora tha close
trade had shown a fair degree of activity
in one or two spots and while the ex
treme close was dull a pretty fair clear
ance had been made by shortly after 10
o clock. The general trade can be quoted
as steady with Saturday's killer market,
whlcu means that today's figures are a
Utile lower than the average at the close
of tha wees. This Is duo to tha fact that
shipiors bought a fair share of the sup
ply Saturday at better prices than pack
ers wero paying, while today tliey were
no shipping orders hero and everything
sold oa the same basis.
