On the Board of Trail yterday, German
bakers have been ordered to use 10 per
rent potato flour In tne making of their
bread. Wheat at Berlin was quired at
$1.93 for spot yesterday, and suppllee of
breadstuff In tha kalatr'a country are
reported a growing, dangerously small.
The business In wheat on export no
count yesterday was again large, and
while the buying was centered In
the nations where It la possible to
get shipments of wheat and flour through
every nation acmaa the water was In
cluded In the buying. Advlcee from Du
luth, Minneapolis, Bt Louis and Kansas
City were all of one kind as to the ex.
port trade, and these markets reported
a big business. According to the more
conservative men In the wheat trade there
la but one side to the market, and that
Is the bull side.
The corn market surprised even Its
most ardent admirers by closing at ad
vances of lVjrlVfcC. The weather was
bright, and favorable for the curing of
this grain, but unsettled conditions were
Promised and considerable corn was
bought on this. A prominent elevator In
terest bought the December In goodly
quantities. There was considerable
shortage In that month as well aa May.
Oats were strong under Improved de
mand from shorts In th pit whk-h was
the result of heavy additional takings
of cash on export account. Cash
transactions were reported aa 676.00
bushels, which were mainly for shipment
abroad.
The 10c decline In the price of hogs at
the yards and the selling by local longs
were the features helpful to the beara
