Few Thrills Offered
At Grand Circuit Run
HAIvTFORD. Oonn., Sept. 9. Small
fields and raoes with few thrills were
offered at the seoond dsy of the Grand
Circuit meeting at Charter Oak park this
afternoon. All three events were stake
races for 34000 purses, the Nutmeg going
to King Couchman, driven by Tommy
Murpby, aftrr five heats. King Couch
man was beaten by Rastus In the first
two because of bad behavior and the
latter failed lo make any opposition In
the last two heats for the same reason.
The Aeorn, 24 trot for three-year-olds,
was won In hollow fashion by Airdale,
none of the oCber entries being able to
push her hard.
The. best race of the day developed In
tho second heat of the Elmwood 2:13 trot,
when Brighton B.' nosed out Martha Bel
lini at the wire In a stiff drive down the
stretch, ' the effort forcing Dickinson to
withdraw the brown mare, after which
Murphy had no trouble warding off

Benefit for Welchoace.
National league players will probably
contribute to the bertfit fund raised for
Harry Welchonce, the former Phllly outfielder,-
whose base ball days have been
cut short while he waa In the height of
his career by that drewded tuberculosis.
Welchonce was one of tie leading hitters
of the Southern league when taken 111.
and his absence from that game has hurt
Atlanta's pennant channes. Welchonce's
sale to a National league club had been
arranged for when the nature of his ill
ness wss learned.

Tee Up! Smoke Up!
AS satisfying as the sounding smack of the
jTjl perfect drive, is the open-air relish of
the perfect smoke Tuxedo. Both go
together, too. When you grab your bag and
start for the links, grab up your tin of
Tuxedo and take it along.
"Follow through' the snappy afternoon
with Tuxedo. Put Tuxedo in your pipe and
you will "pul" the best. And at "the nine--teenth
hole" rest up and relax with a good,
solid smoke of Tuxedo. That's , the advice '.
of good golfers everywhere.
Th Perfect
Its worth yourm while to try Tuxedo.
Especially if a sensitive tongue prevents pipe
smoking.
Tuxedo positively cannot bite not even
if you smoke pipeful after pipeful, as many
as you can crowd into a day or a week.
Tuxedo is made of only the finest, choic
est, selected leaves of perfectly aged Burlcy
tobacco. It is made by the original "Tuxedo

the wonderful mildness,
fragrance and flavor of
the Burlcy Leaf in a
way that no other brand
of tobacco has ever suc
