among the Germans ot Nebraska, was
burled yesterday afternoon in Laurel mhi
cemetery.-
The hour get for the funeral was 1
o'clock, but before that time the Treltag
home at Twenty-fifth and a streets was
filled wltn a large coneotitwe of relatives
and friends. About the casket of the
dead man wa heaped a wealth of. the
rarest cut flower and floral designs.
Pr. Wheeler of the First rresbyterlan
church was In charge ot the rellgloui
service and In a touching address eslo-
glsed the life and virtues or the deceased.
Pr. Wheeler's address, wmcn wa in
English, was followed by ft tribute la
German by John Mattes of Nebraska
City. Many or th elderly Germans pres
ent were touched to tear by th word
of Mr. Matte.
The eulogies were Interspersed with se
lections of German muelo rendered by a
choir o twenty-four voice whom Under
taken George Brewer baa ranged about
the casket.
At th conclusion of th house services
th procession took It way toward
Laurel Hill cemetery, where th noay was
laid to rest. In the line of march wer
representative ot th German Horn, of
which Mr. Frettes; wa president, the
Bon ot Herman and delegate from prac
tically every German society ot -note in
Nebraska.

knowledge of an assault committed upon
a local 17-year-old girl was identified
yesterday as being one of four men who
ransacked a house tn Omaha within the
last week. He was turned over to Detec
tive Charles Van Dutn of th Omaha
police.
Fred Sevecek was arrested yesterday
morning at Nineteenth and S streets by
Officer Jos Dlask, who charged him with
assault and battery.

Twenty-fourth street were entered by
burglar Saturday night and robbed of
clothing and hardware, the estimated
value ot which I (100. Th John O.
Richards haberdashery, Oil North Twenty-fourth
street, was entered threagu a
rear wlndowi the glass of which wa
smashed, and robbed ot eleven pair cf
shoes, eighteen shirts and seven pairs el
suspenders. Th Barber Hardware com
pany, 41 W North Twenty-fourth street,
was entored through a rear window and
robbed of thirty valuable knives, two
saw and two alarm clocks. Ttie pollrw
are of the belief that the two stores were
entered by the same person.
