vised lint of the meeting! to be held In
this city from August 7 until the and of
the present year.
According to the list In tha next five
months there will be fourteen conventions
held In Omaha, sis of which will bring del
egates from all orer the United States,
The remainder of the conventions for this
year are the gatherings of Nebraska or
ganisation., or aesoolatlons from this sec
tion of the country.
The national conventions will each bring
hundreds and, perhaps, thousands of visit
ors to Omaha, all of whom will put a fair
amount of new coin Into circulation here
and thereby add to tha rapidly Increasing
wealth of this city.

Stockholders Liable
for Company's Debts
Judje Troup Makes Important Euling
in Case of Defunct Railway
Company.
Stockholders of the Nebraska Central
Railway company, now in the hands of the
receiver, are liable for the par valua of
their holdings, should It be necessary, al
though tha stock was sold them as fully
paid up and nonassessable. This ruling
was made by Judge Troup In district court
Tuesday. The ruling was in an action
brought against the stockholders of the
company by Judge C. T. Dickinson, the re
ceiver, which has been In litigation for
the last eight months.
Although It decides a mooted point,
which has taken a long time for trial, the
amount of the claims which the stock
holders will have to pay approximates only
about fC.000.
