Active practice for the elasa meet of
the Omaha High school April ? began
Tuesday afternoon. A call for alt candi
dates who Intended to enter the meet was
given by R. U Carns. loach. Monday
afternoon, and more than sixty lads have
expressed their determination to try out
for a place In th meet. Friday afternoon
Carns and Robert Wood, oaptaln of the
track squad, will choose th lads who are
to enter th meet.
Interest Is most keen over this meet, and
as classes are about evenly matched In
strength. It will be a close match between
the Juniors and seniors of th school. Te
th olaas winning the most points will he
given for one year the silver loving cup,
presented by the diss In 1MM.
In the lsst two years th s cup has goni
to the senior class.
The Junior class la strong, and will enter
all th fast men In the claas. Th fresh
men have not yet organised, but a few
loyal students have been practicing with
the other elaeses for several nights.

Crelghton university easily romped
around Uornlngslde yesterday afternoon
on Crelghton field, winning with a 10 to 0
score. McKee started off with a neat
single and took second and third on errors.
Kyle gained first by a ntray pitched ball.
Both scored on Kelly's clean drive to cen
ter. Hronek was "transported to first on
the third strike end Kelly scored on a
throw to catch Hronek stealing second,
who scored on Mattaon's long fly. Miller
was presented with first on an error and
tallied on Relliy's swat to tight, who In
turn gained third and repeated on a wild
throw to the catcher. Kelly fanned and
McKee filed, with Fletcher an occupant
of th initial corner.
Thus ended the Inning and the game
waa pocketed. The game lingered through
several more Innings, without threat
on th part of Mornlngslde to break up the
monotony. Crelghton, however, scored
another run In the second, took a vacation
for th next three Innings and In the sixth
deposited three more to Its account with
the scorer'. The remainder of the game
did not offer anything more. A fairly
large crowd attended and were enthused
to the point of anxiety to see Crelghton
line up agalnit the Rourke. whom they
play today at i o'clok. The score: x

Dorchester, who finished second last year,
was the winner of today's Marathon race
from Ashland. Mass, breaking the record
of 3:24::-4. His time wss 2:3I:3!H. The
former record was made four years ago
by Tom LonKhout. the Canadian Indian.
Fred J. Madden of South Boston was a
poor second by lemon of un accident two
miles from the finish.
Then came Kd Kabore of Montreal, while
Robert .1. Fowler of Cambridge, another
old-timer, was fourth. Demar ran a well
judged race, for he did not become a factor
among the leaders until more than a third
of the' course had been run. As the field
swung Into ths boulevard at Auburndale
he challenged Madden, who was leading
at that time, and finally pusTied out In
front.
In spite of two big hills Demar not only
drew steadily sway, but hit up the pace
so that he captured former records at
minor points along the home stretch, nota.

on the long road stretching Out f th city
to witness a hundred yards or so of the
Boston Athletlo association's fifteenth
marathon run from Ashland to this city, a
distance of twenty-five miles. Unofficial

The field got away in good order at noon.
Ahlgren and Masterson managed to keep
In front at ths start, the former leading
at Wellesley square, twelve miles from
the start, by thirty yards. The time here
was 1:16:80, compared with ths record of
0.69:14 by Wei ton In IMA.
At the entrance to the boulevard at Au
burndale, sixteen miles from the start
Maden of South Boston pushed Into the
lead, making th turn at 1:27:00 from th
start compared with th record of 1:23:66

Blecka won the first fall in fifteen min
utes of clever work with a mill hold.

liminary sparring brought Blecka to ths
