CATTLE There wss a very sstlsfactory
run of. cattle tor a Friday, sixty-four cara
heincr reonrtpd in the vards. This makes
the receipts for the five days nearly b,00)
head larger than tor tne same penoa ni
! week, but smaller than a year ago oy al
most 2,000 head.
The market on beef steers was in very
satisfactory condition this morning as
viewed trom a seller'a standpoint, the same
as It has been on practically every day thla
week. Buyers were out in gooa season
and anything desirable In the way of kill
ers changed hands In very fair season at
prices that wtre steady to strong. There
were a few cattle In sight gooa enougn 10
bring $6.30. The general tendency ot val
ues all the week has been upward and
prices are now safely 1090c higher than
at last week's close. Some would say in
1 extreme cases as much as 25c higher.
W hat ha been said regarding beer cattle
would apply in larve part to cows and
heifers. They were fairly active thla morn
ing in spite of the fact that It la so near
I the end -of the week, when the market Is
never exnented to be very good. Prices
11.8, were at leaat steady with yesterday and
WQjoc higher than last ween.
ir-aMtsrs sniri verv fr.olv the few here
3-8 chanalna- hands early at Ilrm prices. The
market on the better grades Is all of 10c
1 higher, than last week, while common trash
! is about that much lower.

big end of the run consisted of lamb, al

compared with values a week ago. It will
be noted that the above sale are right
around ISCoWc higher, .the general trade

There were hardly enough sheep or good
yearlings on sale today to make much of
a market, hut the few available strings
sold readily on a firm basis. Kwes moved
at $3 96 and $4 00 or more on Mrlctly choice
grades I tlll quotable. Wethers were
scarce, good ones meeting with a brisk
demand at $4.15oJ4.2n. Matched with last
Saturday's aheep quotations, effrrent prices
appear to be safely a dime higher, handy
weights selling at good premiums over the
heavy finished stuff.
