A fair day, a fast traik and an Immense crowd from all over Burt county and from Omaha made the Fourth of July celebration at Tekaifiah and first day of the Tekamah race meet a big succoss. The ball game of the moi-nlna. Oakland vs. Tekamah, was won by Tekamah by a score of 8 to 3. Speaking at the park began at 11 o'clock, addresses being made by Congressman Latta and G. A. Maguey of Omaha. Several hundred people from Omaha swelled the crowd which filled the streets all day and the grandstand at the races In the afternoon. Two McKeen motor cars arrived shortly before noon loaded with boooters of the Ak-Sar-Ben, who kept thlnga lively wherever they went. Nearly fifty automobiles from Omaha rolled Into Tekamah during the day with their loads of human freight. Most of these Joined In several basket lunch picnic parties. One party of six auto loads picnicked on the Huston lawn. The races were high class and were en Joyed by one of the largest crowd of people that ever turned out to race In northwestern Nebraska. The stands were filled to overflowing so that many were unable to get seats Aere and the quarter stretch was filled with people, rigs and autos.
