rolled into foul territory. Clark was also
off on balls and strikes when they counted.
Cobb reached flritt when Clark called his
bunt fair, and went to second on Cockman'a
out at flrwt on a groundedr from pitcher to
first. ,t Cobb went to third on Davis' out at
first.; Thomas hit single to center and
Cobb r scored. Wlendensaul drore Thomas
home by hitting a long double to center.

The gam started as though it was go

today, by the arrival of Sam Houston, a
college recruit. Houston is a right-hander,
and showed a world of speed in the warm
up practice this afternoon. The new twlrler
Is yet in his teena, but Manager Davts says
that he is a coiner. He will probably be
worked tomorrow In the closing gam of
the present series.

pled by Dwyer's Injury. He is hobbling
around with a 'badly damaged ankle, whlco

round fight here tonight. The bout went
the limit and Conley was full of fight at
the finish, though he was punlehed se
verely. Thev weighed in at 124 pounds at flv
o'clock, Moran entering the ring a couple of
pounds heavier than Conley. Moren's su
perior strength and cleverness were mani
fest from the start. He landed hard and
often In the last three rounds, hut Con
ley's ability to assimilate punishment
