Ilammon, an old soldier, formerly an Inmate of (he Soldiers' home at Milwaukee, Wis., died, supposedly from sunstroke, while at work in a harvctl field last fall in the northwest part of Beadle county. Efforts to learn something concerning the history of the man proved unavailing until satchel was found will n inntatned a package of letters addressed to William E. Hammon, among which was one from a woman In Michigan, purporting to be his sister. letters addressed to this woman brought the Information that the dead man was her brother, William K. Hammon, from whom she had not heard for five or six years. The description given by her tallied very l mly with that of tin dead man, and It was supposed that no mis take had been made.
