8HEKP Receipts of sheep this morning
were very light, there not being enough in
sight to create any great amount ot en
thuslssm. The few loads here were prac
tically all foedera, there being no killers
of any consequence In sight. There was n
very fair demand for killers, but the feel
ing was weak on that kind. The fart Is
that the Chicago market Is considerably
lower than this market, taking Into account
the difference in railroad .rates. In fact,
on some kind of killers the price Is actu
ally l.iwer at Chicago than here. This
naturally makoe the buyers for packing
houses bearish in their views and aa noted
yesterday they would undoubtedly buy fat
atuff lower If receipts, wero large enough to
admit of it. With offerings so small they
were forced to pay practically steady prlcea
for the little stuff to be had.
As usual there was a good demand for
feeders snd the market was generally
steady on all desirable grades. The fact is
the feeder market has been very satisfac
tory all thla week, with comparatively little
change In prices. In fsct what few changes
have taken place have been on the side of
sircnget vi.lj.,1. A r'ent many medium
lambs are coming such fc fro selling
around $S.004r6.20. with very few striit'y
good or choice lambs offered. As noted
yesterday, old broken mouthed and Inferior
ewes are alow sole every day, the demand
not being for that kind. '
