OMAHA HIGH LOSES TWO GAMES Both of Them Fast aad Fine Exhibi tion of Base Ball. MALVERN. Ia.. May 25. (Special.) Mal vern. High school defeated Omaha High school yesterday In two of the most exciting games ever seen In Malvern. Both games were characterised by sensational catches and fast fielding by both teams. Malvern won the first game by bunching hlta In the first two Innings, which netted four runs.' Adams did not steady down until the third inning and Malvern went out In one, two, three order until the eighth Inning, when two doubles and a single gave then, two runs and the game. Their last two runs came on a bad de cision by the umpire. Dice waa seesawed between third and home and waa finally called out for running out of the ' line, Davis going to third on the play. The whole Omaha High' school team gathered In to assist In the putout. When the um pire called him out Adams waa standing right on the line with the ball. Davis, thinking he could steal home In the mixup, started down the line. Adams tagged Mm squarely on the back, but the umpire called htm safe, leaving only two out and one score to the good. In this Inning Con rad pulled off one of the finest catches ever seen In Malvern. Lang of Omaha came to bat and hit a high one Into deep center. Conrad, who was playing In close, ran straight back, looking toward the sun, catching the ball tunning In the same di rection with the ball, catching It over his head. He saved the game by this catch, which would certainly have been a three sacker and two men on bases. Score, first game: OMAHA. MALVERN. At) H O A E AB H O A K. Adams, p.... It was a pitchers' battle, of which Adams had the better but for the home run In the first of the seventh. Three men faced Adams each inning until I the sixth, those he did not st;ik out being ! gathered In by the fielders. Not a man ! reached first nntll the sixth, when one man ) got that far, but no further. In th seventh 1 Conrad, who made the sensational catch In i the first game, was first to bat,, and as he i stepped up to the plate his father told him ! to knock It over th fence and he would give him a dollar. A slow inshoot went squarely over the' plate, and then squarely over the fence. The people went crazy over It and a purse of over 33 was given hlra. The game was lost tn spite of the rally which Omaha made In the last lnnmg with two men on bases and two out. Mc Whlnney struck out. Score. sjcond game: OMAHA. MALVERN. AB.H.O.A.B.
