CHICAGO, Jan. 27. Receiver Edwin C.
Day was In charge of the Pan-American
Banking company's affairs today. A small
number of depositors were on hand at the
opening hour. They were Informed by the
receiver that no statement of the defunct
concern's condition could be given out
until later In the day. The Twentieth
Century limited, on which, uncording to
the bunk's officials, Iretldent W. H. Hunt
was due to arrive with funds to relieve
the situation, reached Chicago today. So
far as could Is learned President Hunt
was not on board.
