BIGGEST DAY OF THE
BIOGEST FAIR.
At ths World fair the Prters Shoe com
pany of St. Ixnis, who operate the
lament and only successful shoe factory
ever Installed nt an exposition, has come to
be known as the leader cf enthusiasm on
the biff day".
On Thursday, which was St. Louis day.
the blKg-PKt day of the f.ilr, they eclipsed all
firmer efforts by litrmlly pouring; out onto
the thrones of people on the ground. oer
a hundred thousnnd whistles and almost as
many wooden souvenir poital cards, made
tip In Imitation of tmrnt wood. The whole
World's fair seemed one vast throng of
whistlers whlFtlltiR for Peters' shoes, and
so exeat was the crush ot the Peters Shoe
company-s exhibit, where their $1,000 slip
pers and other Interesting specimen of
footwear are shown, thnt the entrances had
to be closed repeatedly. In spite of which
portions of the exhibit were wrecked and
filnsterinK broken out.
The wooden souvenir card, (tlven by this
firm. Is one of tho cleverest novelties de
signed In connection with tho big fair. One
of them will be mailed to any address free
on request.

Mr. Olds, 1137 N. 17th St., after he had
bought a Solar Oak snld: "We have been
using a Hot Blast the liiHt two years. That
is the dirtiest soft coul stove that I ever
raw; we had to plunk the coal in through
the top and raise the .moke, soot and dirt,
then we had to shovel the ashes out of the
bottom and raise the ashes, dust and dirt.
Then It waa hotter than bllxon one minute
and colder than bllxon the next minute.
Nobody could show me how to get the
different results so I sold it."
