So Trouble In Coa-aectlaa- with Coom' Slants, bat II ! do Free with Gifts Companion. COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo r June 4. (Special Telegram.) A smafhlng three bsgger In the eighth Inning In today's Kama with Omaha, after Companion had weakened slightly, resulted in the defeat of the visitors. The hit wi made by Graham, who was put In to bat for Coons after the Omaha pitcher had given three bases on balls. Up to that time Com panion had pitched a masterly game and the Rourkeltes seemed to have a cinch. The CornhuKkers had no trouble In lining out Coons' slants, but they wore unlucky Jn placing them. The few hits the Jim mies got off Companion nearly all fell on fertile ground. Miller's error, due In part to the slippery field, was responsible for two runs. Dusty, however, did good work with the stick, iaclrig out a three-sacker In the sixth that resulted In two scores. In the next Inning Miller duplicated the trick after Companion and Carter had lammed out safe ones. Dusty was loudly cheered for his great work at the bat. The score: COLORADO SPRINGS. s) AB. R. H. Charlie Brown, the bright young man from Ames college, who has done some wonderful work In the box for his col lege, reached Omaha yesterday and was rent on directly to join the Rourke family n the west. He will probably make his Uebut with the team in one of the Denver Karnes. Brown's work this season has Surpassed even the phenomenal. He has r Itched ten games and won every one of hem: four of them have been shutouts, and In none has the opposing team scored rnore than one run. Five hits Is the most that has been made off him In any one arame, and the average for the ten Is two end one-half. He says he Is in good shape tor hard work, and If so he will surelv be an acquisition, for a team never needed pitchers more than Omaha does Just now. Llebhardt has been released. In the Tuesday editions of the papers there appeared a piece which said that tho Nationals defeated the Hollys on Dec oration day. This in not correct, as the Hollys did not play Decoration day and theji have never been defeated by the Na tionals. On the contrary, the Hollys easily defeated the Nutlonals this season by an overwhelming foot bull score. Tbe Hollys are willing to take on the Nationals again for $26 a side. If the Nationals wish to tako this up they already have the Hollys' address. It has also been claimed by two different kid teams that they have defeated the Holly Juniors. This Is also Incorrect as the Holly Juniors have not played yet this year and will not until the school va cation begins. The Holly Juniors have never been defeated since their organiza tion In 18U7 and have won almost 300 games In their seven years' career. P. MCANDltEWS, Manager Hollys. W. BELL.
