A report is current about Union Fa
cMo headquarters to the effeot that T. M.
Orr will soon be the recipient of a title
befitting his position. Just what the title
will be. It appears, has not yet been de
cided. Mr. Orr formerly was assistant
Secretary of the company, but with the re
tirement of the receivers this office was
discontinued. He was, of course, secretary
to President Burt.
'Several suggestions have been made of
titles which may be bestowed upon Mr.
Orr, but none of them. It seems, properly
fit his position. It has been suggested that
the office of assistant secretary be re
vived, but it is not believed that this sug
gestion is looked upon with favor by the
powers that be. Another . is that he - be
made assistant to General Manager Kan
croft, but J. M. Oruber, general superin
tendent of the system. Is practically Mr.
Bancroft's assistant at present.
.The present anonymous position of Mr.
Orr causes considerable trouble on the
part of officials who desire to address com
munications to him. He holds a high posi
tion with the Union Pacific and has done
so for years. His knowledge of affairs of
the system Is regarded aa more thorough
than any other man In the general head
quarters building.

of motive power and machinery of the
Union Pacific, has resigned his position to
become effective March 1& He will be
connected, with the Southern railway after
that date as consulting mechanical engi
neer of the company and allied lines. In
cluding the Queen tk Crescent, Mobile ft
Ohio, Central of Georgia and the Georgia,
Southern Florida, Mr. Hlbbltta cams to
the Union Paclflo with Samuel. Hlgglna
wtien the latter was appointed superintend
ent of motive power, and as Mr. Higgina
now holds the same position with ths
Southern, It is supposed that It la due to
him that Mr. Hlbbltta Is making the
changs, Mr. Hlbbltta was at one time con
nscted with, the engineering department of

arrested last Saturday afternoon for disor
derly conduct. Majors was advertising
