NEW YORK, Jan. 8-The Ice fields in
the Hudson river and New York bay are
nitre troublesome to navigation than for
many years, river craft being swept from
their moorings in numerous cases today.
Binca Sunday tha Ice has been a menace
to tugs and ferryboats that traversed the
river, but the Increasing amount .of Ice
from up-river points made navigation tday
especially dangerous. Tha greatest dangv
came from the piling up of Immense fields
of lea through which narrow lanes for navi
gation were cut by the big ferries.
