Des Moines by Sheriff Power that L. H
Potts, who is wanted here for contempt of
court, waa In Des Moines. The sheriff
has departed for that city to bring Potts
back to this city. Potts is alleged to have
incurred the contempt of the court for
kidnaping Mabel Begerholm. the 10-year
old child, whose history has been aired
in the local . courts xepeatedly and who
was the victim of habeas corpus proceed
ing. st the time she was alleged to have
been kidnaped by Potts.

The large elevator and warehouse of the
t'pdlke Grain company, located at Mis
souri Valley, la. took fire yesterday
morning between 4 ' and 5 o'clock.
The entire building will be a total

for the first time. Under the provisions
of this law personal taxes become dellti-
quent two months earlier than usuaL Per-
sonal taxes are now due November 1 snd
are delinquent December 1. Formerly per-
sonal taxes were due October I and de-
llnquent February 1. AH taxea used to
be due October 1; they are now due Ho-
vember L Real taxes are delinquent May
1 of the following year, and may be ad
vertised October 1 of the following year
after they are due and may be sold for
taxes on November 1 of that year. After
taxes are delinquent they draw Interest at
the rate of 10 per cent per annum, and
after sale at the rate of 20 per cent.

the district court, Frank J. Norton signing
the petition. Judgment was immediately
