Mr. Pollck came to Justice Foster' court
and asked that a peace warrant be sworn
out against Mra, Ewing. ,He wa afraid of
her and feared for the aafety of hi five
children. He was accommodated with the
warrant and yesterday afternoon th hear
ing wa had. Mr. Ewing wa discharged,
and now threaten to retaliate, hence It I'
possible, the Judge Bays, that the tale of '

at no distant day.

A hurry call wss received at the police
station yesterday afternoon from 1KH Pierce
street. Two men. Bert Swisher, living at
Tenth and Marcy street, and I. N. Stuckey
of Sidney, la., both stranger to the per
sons living at the number given, had taken
possession of the "house. The two men
were drunk and called at the place. G. A.
Callen, Mary Not and Lilly Vallaoding
ham were in the house at the time. Th
men opened the door end entered. They
Instructed the occupant to tnak them
selves scarce, which they did. A policeman
wa summoned a soon a possible. When
he arrived the men were la an upper room
of the residence, and he left them there
until th wagon could be called. Three offi
cer went up stair after th supposed des
peradoes and found them atretched out on
th bed comfortably sleeping. They were
charged with being drunk and Insulting
women. The only explanation they had to
make for their peculiar behavior wa that
they had gotten into the wrong house, sup
posing they were at home.

Stephen, they thought he wa an ordinary,
Idle fellow who couldn't keep out of trou
ble. Subsequent events have caused th
police to change their opinion and they
now believe they have a man who Is will-,
fully and maliciously crooked.
Murray or Stephen wa first arteated en
a complaint of disturbing the peace of th
neighborhood at Fourteenth and lsard.
That wa on Monday and now two mora
con. plaints have been filed against him. A
Manlove charge him wlili assault to do
bodily harm and Amoa Dean, a lad about 18
years old, allege Stephens (tola 812 from
him wliil they were occupying a hay car
together at the same place and time th
disturbance occurred.
In view of the fact that new rases are de
veloping against Murray or Stephen th
pc lico feel disposed to hold him for a time
to see how far th filing of new complaint
will go.
