Make It Tight.
'Omaha divided the eertea with Kansas
City yesterday afternoon by taking the
game by a score of ( to 6. Nichols was In
the box for the visitors and the Kourkeltea
evened up for Monday's mAssacre by bat
ting; him very freely all of the game. There
was but one Inning In which the locals
failed to secure a hit. Companion waa In
for Omaha, but waa wild, at certain stages
of the game, but saved himself several
times by bracing up and pitching superbly.
.Kansas City mads Its first run In the sec
ond. Jacobs singled, hut was forced out at
econd by Weeks. Kahl singled and Com
panion filled the bases with a pass. Then
Meaaltt drove out a single and scored one.
In their half of the Inning the Rourkeftes
Jumped on the ball and swatted It all over
the diamond for three large and juicy runs
With one out Welch, singled and Thomas
followed suit. Hlckey made first on Jacobs'
fumble, while Welch came in. Then Com
panion brought two more in with a clean-
cut single.
' Tie the Score,
Then the hired men from the Kaw tied
the score In the third on a pass, a triple and
a single. In the fourth Omaha regained the
lead on two singles and a fielder' choice
but lost It the very next Inning. Ketcham
tarted out In the fifth for the Kawltes and
was erased at first Then Waldron and
Strelb eaoh swung for two sacks and came
In on some loo fielding. That ended the
coring for the visitors and Omaha kept at
It for the next two Inning.
i ne score in i tne sixtn came In on a
single, a sacrifice and another single, while
the last score In the seventh was the result
of two singles, a sacrifice and a long fly
into the field
In the sixth Kansas City sprung a scare
on- 'the locals, when Companion filled the
bases by giving Ketcham and Waldron
passes with two men out,' but Strelb sent a
long, high one out to Dusty Miller and It
was all over but the cheering. This after
noon Omaha meets the Saints and It is also
lad lea' day, " '
