CATTLE The supply of cattle Here today
was much llahter than wns exnected. so
that the market ruled active nnd stronger
all nround on anything nt all desirable.
As tho tablo of receipts above will Bhow the

mere wero a few corn-red steers on the
market today und they sold 6'iflOo higher
wunout aiuicuity wnere me quality was at
all desirable. Packers all seemed to want
them nnd as a rejult they chanced hands
quite rapidly. The commoner grndes, of
course, were not in as good request, but
still even those brought strong prices.
A big inronortlon of tho receipts today
was made up of cow stuff, about 40 curs
being on sale. Packers, however, were all
very llbernl buyers nnd as a result the mar
ket wus nctlvo and a good dime higher
tnan yesterday, tho uuvunco was not lim
ited to the choicest grades, but wns gen
eral on nil classes of both cows nnd belters
They chanKed hands about ns rnnldly ns
tney wero yarded una sorted, so mat tne
bulk of the offerings was eoon out of first
hands.
liuilH. calves and stags were also in good
request at strong nrlces.
Thero were a good many stockers and
feeders In the yards today, out tho demnnd
was equal to the occasion. The choicer
xrades of heavyweights sold the best, the
same as usual, and In fact advanced n dime
and in some enscs more, ine less uesiranie
grades also sold well and tho general mar
ket could safely be quoted strong to a dime
higher and active.
Although most everything In tho yards
this morning was from the range country
there were very few grass steers good
enough for killers and the quality of those
that dm arnvo was ratner common. racK-

the market could tier quoted sqioc higher
nnd native. Cows lnmrovcd a dime nnd so
also did anything nt all good In the way of
heavy reeders, wnue tne stocKcrs sqia at
