struction Murdock yesterday morning from
Washington. Work will now bo pushed with
all speed, fourteen months licnco being tho
latest date of completion allowed.
As has been planned, tho new specifica
tions provide for tho filling lu of the
Seventeenth street front between tho two
wings with a construction the full height
of the building and very similar to the
Sixteenth street frontage. Tho first plaus
would havo made this section but one
story high. Senator Millard was respon
sible for tho alteration, and to him Is also
duo credit for tho rushing of tho now
specifications.
Probably the chief feature of the now spc
lion will bo the vast railway mall plat
form, extending ninety feet nlong tho new
