CATTLE Receipts today were not heavy,
a decrease being noted, both as compared
with the two preceding davs of this week
and also with the corresponding days of
last week and the week bet'ore. lieef cattle
both corn-feds and westerns, made up the
bulk of the receipts. The demand on tho
part of packers was In good shape and
the market ruled active and strong on ull
desirable grades.
There were about twenty cors of com-fed
cattle on sule and buyers started out early
and for anything at all good they paid Siff
10c more han they did. yesterday. Even tho
less desirable grades sold without difficulty
ut fully steady prices, so that an early
clearance was made.
Tho cow market was also In good shape
nnd could bo quoted strong to 10c higher
than yesterday. Packers seemed to want
all 'there were In the yards and It was not
long Detorc practically everything waa out
of first hands. There were quite a few
choice bunches in the yards and those in
particular Acre In good demand.
Good to Choice bulls sold remlllv ut utrnni-
prlces, but the common and canning grades
were neglected and sellers had to take what
packers wero willing to give. Veal calves
and stags did not show much of any change
iiuiii i'Bieruuy(
There were quite a few Blockers and
feeders In the yards and buyers took ad
vantage of tho opportunity to pound values
down, as the demand from the country Is
light. There were a good many eattln enr.
rled over from yesterday In the Immln nt
speculators. Some of the choicer grades to-
uny Bum m just uuout yesteraay s quota
tions, but aside from those the liarkot
was slow and considerably lower, cases be
ing irequeut 01 a uccune ot 103 15c.
Packers wero ull anxious fnr th
cattle and for anything at all cholco they
readily paid an udvunce of bciiltic. Thi .
piled equally well to steers and cows. Feed
ers, ino aame us quoted anove for natives
were slow sale and all the way from steady
to 15c lower, Representative Bales;

SIIEEP-There was quite a liberal run
of sheep heie today, but none too many to
supply the needs of local packers, They
started In early nnd puld good, rteady
prices for everything at all desirable and
It did not take long to clear the pent.
Wethers and yearlings sold ns high as
U.W and ewes reached 11. Yesterday 13.10
was paid for ewes, but they were bctler
than anything offered today.
ljimbs were also In good demand nnd
fully steady prices were paid. The quality
of the offerings was better than has been
the case for some little time, so that tin
sales on, paper look higher, as much as
(4.80 being paid.
There were very few feeders offered to
day and in fact the only ones thut wete
on sale were those sorted out from the
killers. The demand la heavy for feeders
at the present time and many more could
bo dlHposcd of than aro being received,
