ST. PAUL, Minn., Aug. 11. (Special Tele
gram.) Omaha dropped the second game of
the series to tho Saints In an exhibition
that was replete with errors. It was nn
exciting contest and was not decided finally
until the last man was out, for tho visitors
made a great bid for a victory In tho last
three Innlncs and enmo within an sen of
maklne Rood. Allowny and CoRnn were at
tho points and Alloway had all tho better of
tho arRument In so far as allowing nits
wont, but ho was wild, passing four men
and hitting one, The loss of the game may
be credited directly to theso battery error
Cogan was steady ns clockwork nt critical
stages. Kour times ho pitched himself oui
of holes with two men on hases. Ilehlnd
Cogan tho Saints played an erratic gnmo.
combining fast nnd brilliant work with the
rankest kind of fielding. Kor six Innings
tho Omaha men were blanked, flondlng
opened tho seventh with a single and Allo
way duplicated the trick. CJcnlns went out
at first base. With one out and men on
second and third, Fleming hit a liner nt
Cogan, who made an effort to stop It, but
only succeeded In diverting It to the short
field, where Hugglns, who got the ball In
plenty of time to make a double, first fum
bled It nnd then threw wild to first, letting
Oondlng and Alloway In. The next two
up were easy outs Omaha put two men
on bases In the final Inning, but was unablo
to get tbrm nround, Buckley sawing tho
olr and Fleming nl Letcher flying out. A
three-bagger by Schaeffer and a fielder's
cholco gave the Saints their first run. Tho
three tallies that camo In the seventh were
the result of a base on balls, a sacrifice, n
hit by pitcher and a clean slnglo with u
couple of errors and n stolen base thrown In
to help tho work along Attendance, 450.
