Totals 4.3.13 7.3.19 4.979 CATTLE There was a good, liberal run of cattle here today for a Thursday, but still the market was In good shape, taking everything Into consideration. There were only about fifteen curs of torn cattle on sale, and as packers were all looking for fresh supplies the market ruled active and stronger on the more desirable kinds. (i I handvwelght cattle were sought alter and Hellers had little difficulty In disposing of such kinds as answered to that descrip tion. The common cattle and the heavy weights did not Improve much, as com pared with yesterday. There were approximately thirty cars of cows nnd heifers on sale besides the usual amount of odds and cutis. The quality of the offerings was very common and buyers claimed there were very few good cows In the yards. Tin- demand for the better grades was active and prices fully steady. The market on dinners ami medium grades held up In good shape and very little change was noticeable, though along to ward the last end, after packers had about all tliev wanted, some of the sellers were calling II a little weak. The siocker and feeder trade opened up In good shape this morning and the demand for the better grades was active and In some cases a little stronger prices were paid. The less desirable bunches, however, did not move any too freely and the prices bbl were certainly no more than steady. As the morning advanced the market did not get any belter on the common kinds and yard traders seemed to have ahont all they Wanted! and as 11 result the market closed rather dull and w.-uk on all but the best grades. There were Just a few western beef steers on sale antl no particular change in prices was noticeable. (rood cows were fully steady with yesterday and canners and medium kinds were also just about as good as those sold yesterday. (rood feeders brought ataady to strong prices and other kinds were about steady, hut closed rather dull and weak Representative sales: BEEP STEERS, No. AT. Pr. No. Av.
