farmer of nirans living In a smnll town near
Omaha and an old acquaintance ot McNabb.
MrscuborE runs a Jewelry storo and pawn
shop. Some time ago ( Zeis and McNabb,
while In that vicinity on other business,
stepped into Hlrschbci'K'B place, as Zeis said
tie wanted ic look at somtr watches. Ac
cording to McNabb's story Zeis was Intox
icated. When they emerged from tho plaro
ZeU proffered $2 to McNubb. saying that ho
would yivo It to him for tho watch, which
he said McNabb had slipped Into his pocket
wlillo In tho store. McNabb protested that
bo had taken no watih and losln-ed on re
turning to tho store to bo aearfhed. vlilch

berg went through his pockets ho seemed
to find n watch, whereupon ho procured Mc
