Trolley Wire Snaps on Tenth Street
YlHiltu-t, (nunliitt Confusion
A folic l'Miiers-II)-.
The Tenth street trolley wire broke near
the north end of the viaduct at 9 o'clock;
yesterday, causing no little confusion,
and excitement In the locality. A Dodg
street car was passing at the time and tba
tuddeo stop Incidental to the parting wlru
Jolted the passengers severely and knocked
down Conductor Kay Adams. All escaped,
however, without serious Injury.-
When the wire gave way the high tension
of tho cable caused the two ends fo fly
nearly fifty feet apart. Both were spitting
sparks and blue flatne, frightening a horse
hitched to a buggy, wjitch took fright and
ran away. Ah soon as possible n cordon of
street car employes was formed about tho
ends of tho wire to warn the public away
and the power housa was notified by 'phono
to shut off tho current.
