CATTMS There was a fairly liberal run
of cattle here today, recclnts beltiK com
1 o.sed largely of westerns. The demand for
cholco steers on the part of both pack-rs
and speculators was In t;ood shape, so that
the market on those grades was active and
stronger.
There were only about twenty cars of
corn cattle on sale today and packers all
seemed to want those of good 'inallty. The
market was steady to strong 'and fairly
active, as iiirii as neing pant lor .1
bunch of well bred westerns wclchlnc
1.55 pound.-. The common grades were
imt sought after and tno mantel on that
class was no morn man mcady.
The cow market was not in very good
shapn today. PJcaers did not seem very
anxious for fresh supplies and the tendency
was toward lower prices. Some of til's
best Krades may have brought right around
steady prices, but the medium grades wore
slow ami anoui a nimo lower, it was a
drnccv market from start to finish and It
was Into before anything like a clearance
was made.
There was finite a demand for bulls to
day, several buyers being on the market
looking for carload of stock bulls anil also
for heavy weights. As a result the market
was a iiitio stronger nil nrounil.
The feeder market was In uood shane to
day, particularly on the better urailes. The
demand from the country Is still very heavv
ami prices lonay ruieii nil tne way rroni
steady to a dime higher on the cooil hf in v
weight cnttle. The medium grades, of
courne, nrn noi wiLiiien aim are rattier slow
sale.
The supply of western cattle was com
nosed mostly of feeders. Killers were look
lug for supplies, hut as the quality of thn
killers was not extra good they did not take
hold with much life. Prices were stnriv
to strong on tho good kinds, but rather
low 11 ml weak on the common grades.
Keeders were In good demand and the
heavy cattle of good quality sold strong to
a dime higher. Cows were rather slow and
prlcee generally lower. Uepresentatlve

HHKKP The bin bulk of the receipts
todav were composed of feeders. The do
munil on the part of packers was tn good
Hhiiiie. so that what few killers were
here brought stronger prices. Sheep of
good quality sold strong to 5c higher nnd
inmbs also sold better than they did yes
terday. There were no strictly choice
li.inhu here tmlav. but had there been any
the general opinion was Hint they wo.ild
hnvo sold anywhere from strong to . 10c
higher. Judging from the way packers
t.ipUxii ni what few thero were on sale.
Thn feeder market was nlo In good
shape, a large number of buyers being on
the market They were active bidders
nnd prices were unevenly higher, but the
market cou'd hardly be called more than
strong to n shade hlslier.
