Right coed cattle that wore just as good as the. la.fn cattle her * yesterday brought the same prlco today. The feeling on the general run of medium to good beef cattle seemed to bo strong. Such cattle as have been sellIng - Ing at $5 and a little above were If anything stronssr this morning. The market on corn- fed cattle as a whole might be quoted as a good steady to etrong and fairly active markot. Most everything changed hands t an early hour. Cows and heifers wcro In fair demand and the market was Just about steady at yesterday' * prices. The most of the offer- Ing's changed hands In good season. Bulls sold about like yesterday , but the market for the week Is a little easier. Vea/1 / calves were steady , the best going at $6.60. Stockers and feeders were slow sale un less very good and the tnarket was weak and lower on oonxnon kinds. There was a steady fall of rain all the morning and speculators were not anticipating much of a demand for the balance of the w ek. Hence they wanted the cattle worth the money or they did not want them at all. Ths feeling that stockers and feeders ore too high is so prevalent that every time there Is any opportunity to take off the buyers can be depended upon 'to take ad vantage of It. Among sellers the feeling was that K the rain should prove to have been general over the state , as reported , a largely Increasfld demand might bo antici pated from the country for feeding ca'ttle of all kinds. There were null * a good many western cattle In the yards , but the most of them were feeders and the market on that kind was lower , as noted above.
