NRW YORK , July -There was llttlp change on the Slock exchange today , prlc s continuing nt the same low ebb as last w uk , which was the smallest week's busi ness of the year A break In Consolidated Gna of 2H and a decline of over a point In Sugar turned prices downward in the morn ing , but the bears wc.ro not disposed to be aggressive. Late In the day nn native de mand do\ eloped for Ne-w York Central , which lifted that stock 1 ? ; from the early low point. The whole market hardened In sjmp.ithy , Pennsylvania being conspicuously affected. The oarlj fractional losses were thus wiped out and llnul prices werea shnde above those of Saturday as a rule , Theie were a few wide movement * In th prices o-f In dividual stocks Manhattan , Federal Steel , American Linseed Oil preferred and Lead were heavy at one. time and General Elec tric fell off a fraction , but later rose oxer C points , closing at 121Tiu. Plttsburg , Clncln- n ill , Chicago & St. Louis Southwestern preferred , the Iowa Central stocks , the piotflcd Steel Oar Mocks and a. few others made some display of strength. The money marke-to of the world show continued relaxation from the recent Mrain , discounts In Londun and in Birlln declining nn additional fraction , but while anxiety over the money outlook la for thn moment relieved there Js a general feeding that higher rates will rule In the. near future. Local money lenders are disinclined to lend money o\n time nt present rates , be lieving that higher rates will prevail later. The activity of business In this country , coupled with the demand for money to mo\e crops. Is expected to furnish employ ment for all available funds. Owing to the activity of trade , both In England and Germany , and the large speculative commitments at Paris and at Bsrlln there will undoubtedly be a demand to borrow the credits established by the United Status on account of food exports. Such loans were made , on a largo scale last year , but It Is evident that higher rates of Interest will b required to prevent the cnllng home of ithln country's credits during the coming months , awing to the Increased opportunities for employment of money at home. It is this situation which has caused a halt in speculation In securities , both In this country and abroad , Bonds were dull and narrow today and chungeb In prlcsn wore mixed.
