the army Inspector at Grand Forks , N. D. ,
shoxvs that the situation there as far as the
laboring people are concerned Is nulto as
bad as It was reported to bo yesterday at
Moorhoad , Minn. The telegram Is as follows :
"T\xo hundred families ha\o been drlxen
from their homes In consequence of the flood.
All the business houses xvitu one exception
are badly flooded. The water Is from six to
ten feet deep on the principal streets Fifty
families , comprising 230 souls , are entirely
destitute and In need of Immediate aid. They
: iavo lost exerythlng and are xxlthout means.
These people oxxned small buildings , being
irlnclpally laborers , and their dxxclllngs have
t > een destrojod and many of them aie noxv
quartered In public buildings. Three thou
sand dollars perhaps xxould be sufficient to
