Aichison tiled In the ofce of the clerk or the strict court I petition asking for a judgment of $25,000 against James B. and Sarah E. Patterson As readers of The Bee may remember , the proceedings for a divorce were instituted by Mrs Aitchison , but the decision of the court was adverse to her. The petition led last evening sets forth the act [ that they were marid In 180 and lived together happily for about three years. Then at the solicita- ton of ! rs. Aitchiison's parents Mr. and Irs. I' . Ilanchett , making the sad and rather unexpected announcement of the death of S. S. Stevens , which occurred at Pasadena . Cnl , Wednesday night at 1 :30 : o'clocle. Dr. Stevens wa a resident of Council Bluffs for over n quarter of a century and left here about four years ago for California , the change being necessitated by enfeebled health. Since his residence there liie health has been much bolter and until within a few weeks I there seemed no probability of the approach- hug emiti . and even when taken ] with this last illness reports from hIs friends there indicate no special cause for alarm so that time new of his death wi come as a sad surplice to moot of his old friends here.
