The display or fruits was very good , and perhaps It would pay the state fair management to make I an object for thE management of the fall of this county to display its fruit at the Omaha fnlr. There were seventeen varieties of corn that could not be beat anywhere , and such broom corn , seventeen feet high. As usual at suell places , there were trotting ant also bicycle races every day and the racing se mel to capture the crowd , though the attendance was not so large as on most former years. There was very ltte machinery - chinery on exhibition. There were very many pretty things In the art hall , but what seemed to attract the attention of most oC the young people was t young lady In bloomers. Our people hal not had the opportunity - portunly of seeing such things before and the way they did stare was a caution. A last appeal or the trustees for a withdrawal or the suit was on the fth Inst. refused , whereupon t.m of the fifteen trustees resigned - signed , Including one In Nelgh and all outside - side of Antelope county. This acton was taken purely upon business considerations with , the view of maintaining upon a secure founaton a Congregational college In north Nebraska.
