E. J/ of Section 13 and N. E. tff Section 24 , all in Township (11) ( ) eleven , Range 6 West It is right in the midst of a vast and immensely fertile agricultural region , sur rounded by flourishing farms , whose thrifty owners are farmers to the manor born , law abiding yeomen who till their broad acres and live at home surrounded by wife and children at peace with their neighbors With such environments , Columbia City can not but be the leading city of the territory Do not be deceived by croakers who claim that * f the farmers of Oklahoma do not spend six months of / \ their time upon their farms With the grandest clim- K * Xatc on the big round globe and winters so mild that I stock need no shelter , the farmer could not if he wished find a more pleasant place to winter The facts are that not five per cent of the farmers of Oklahoma , spend their winters off their farms , and in the years to come and as the real beauties of this magnificent clim ate become better known , it will become a winter re sort for the people of frost bound Northern States This region is fast becoming one of the most im portant fruit growing regions in the Union The farms in this favored region will produce grain and vegetables of every kind , and the mineral resources are unlimited Columbia City has sprung up in the midst of this prolific and populous region as if by magic With three great railroad systems passing through it , Columbia City cannot fail to become an important city Like Rome of old it is located upon a hill with the beautiful panorama of plain and undulat ing prairie lying all around her She is up where the health-giving winds of heaven can chase away the noxious vapors which in so many cities breed disease and death By standing in the center of the public park ( which you find marked in the center of the ac companying plat ) , you can see eighty miles on a clear day The atmosphere is so clear that the Comanche mountains , eighty-five miles distant , do not appear more than twenty miles distant From the Central Park , in the center of the city of Columbia , Evarts street , running north and south , and Peniston street , extending east and west , are each one hundred and fifty feet wide , and the adjoining streets each one hundred feet wide , making Columbia City the best laid out city in America At the risk of repeating I will again call your attention to the fertile farms , the , - vast mineral fields , which will support and bring wealth to this young city ; the sparkling springs of " - • * pure water and the beautiful lakes abounding in fish , and whose broad waters will add health and pleasure to the favored inhabitants of the New Eldorado of the West Lota , Inclushe lilt v ltoO " 1 ltolS " 2 1 to 12 " 8 1 to 0 • 4 7 to 12 " 6 1 to 12 " 0 1 to 12 " 7 1 to 0 u 8 1 to 7 " 0 1 to 14 " 10 1 to 14 " 11 1 to 14 ' • 14 1 to 14 ' 15 1 to 7 " 10 1 to 7 " 05 1 to 14 ' CO 1 to 14 " 07 1 to 14 " 70 1 to 14 " 71 1 to 14 " 72 ltoO " 73 1 to 12 " 74 1 to 12 " 75 7 to 12 " 70 ltoO " 77 1 to 12 " 78 r irTw ra m i iSOfi m i" ° | 8o ji'fj pq | ' q 100 1 * 2 filxi \ \ , so I ° ° i2 Ffi" lool ° a H i'3ci s ° | l3Qi2 H i'3C8ol ' | 1 pT 11 2 11 2 n T " e 11 t z t • 3 10 3 ' 0 5 10 J 3 1 . 10 J 3 _ ! 2 _ - _ i _ iq-3 _ j _ " - " 8 5"T [ ? jTcfT" pT a 4 9p [ 4 _ _ : _ 1 _ _ jJ- - ± - < ' • . 5 8 5 8 5 8 _ 5 fl 5 6 5 6 5 e - j 6 | ( 6 | 1 7 I 1 6 I | 1 I I 6 1 , I 7 | | 6 | 1 7 11 I | | 7 | | 6 | | 6 S CHEVENNE AVE 3 , fTPI-ril ' 4 II ' I Z [ ' 4 I I I 1 - I 14- I [ * T | I 14I I I ' 1 I 14 11 i I I II I I ' , I I i Is . 2 > 13 t O 13 2 13 J 2 13 7 13 Z 13 2CD [ i- ' • 3 ; o _ !
