to the European war news , At the opening this
morning prices wore lirm and in nome cases

evening. There was a manifest disposition
on the part of the shorts in Grangers and
Vanderbllta to cover. The market continued
strong but only fairly activd until the an
nouncement was made near the middle of tbo
