not heed it. Well, here it is again. In no way can
you show your loyalty to the University,. and especi
allj to the journal which represents it, so well as in
patronizing the men who advertise in The Hesper
ian. Go ye and do this thing.
OJpHE frequency with which we have been con
T&J fronted by the title "Reverend" in our alumni
column has reminded us of the.situation a few years
ago when all the newspapers of the state were de
nouncing the University as an "infidel.institution."
It would now seem that it is impossible for a man to
graduate from the Universityjmd retainhis'religious
convictions. However, that newspaper howl sub
sided some time since. Even newspapers have a
tendency to outgrow their foolishness.

We do not yet know who is to blame for the delay.
Perhaps it is in the nature of boiler houses to be a
little behind hand. The present delay promised
most serious results until the resort to stoves in Uni
versity hall, Even now in the other buildings the
imperfect heating is dangerous to thejiealth of all
who frequent them. Whenever the completion of a
work depends upon many people it liableto in
numerable hindrances and delays. We are.suffering
from the operation of general law therefore which,
however, does not make the buffering any less scveic.
