The total system combines seven
interactive components. A video moni
torreceiver; VHS Hi-Fi stereo VCR; 50
watt integrated amplifier; AMFM
tuner; audio cassette deck; linear
trackingturntable; compact digital audio
disc player; and twin stereo speakers.
The system is controlled by a micro
chip computer inside the monitor re
ceiver and is commanded by a 52-key
wireless remote control device.
The integrated system allows you to
perform multiple functions simultan
eously. A true entertainment buff could
record a broadcast channel on the
VCR while recording an album on the
stereo cassette deck, and at the
same time watch a completely dif
ferent broadcast channel.
Dohmen said the buyers market for
the $5,000 dollar system will basically
denote into three groups.
"Our RCA market survey identified
three potential buying groups," he said.
"First you have the ear ly adapter. This
would be anyone who is audio or vidiophile.
"Then you have the group that wants
the best at any price. And, finally, the
family entertainment group."
