sets summer playbill
A Pulitzer-Prize-winning drama, a big, bold and
brassy musical, and a British comedy form the 1084
Nebraska Repertory Theatre's 1934 summer play
bill "Crimes of the Heart," by Beth Henley, is a high
spirited comedy that won the Pulitzer Prize for
Drama in 1031. It is about a reunion of three sisters
. a spinster, a cexpot and a screwball and the
trio's attempts to elude their scarred childhoods
and grab a new chance at life. "Crimes of the Heart"
will play the Studio Theatre June 28 to 30 and July 3
to 7 and 10 to 14, all at 8 p.m.
"George M!" is the story of the Broadway talent of
the first quarter of this century, George M. Cohan.
All the songs in the musical are Cohan's "George
MP will play the University Theatre Omaha July 6 to
8 and 1 3 to 1 5, and the Howell Theatre July 24 to 28,
all at 8 p.m.
Three couples each representing a level of the
middle class dine together in Alan Ayckbourn's
"How the Other Half Loves." The British farce
comedy pokes fun at all three classes while demon
strating that they, like East and West, cannot really
meet. It is scheduled for an eight-night run at the
Howell Theatre, August 2 to 4 and 7 to 1 1 at 8 p.m.
