UNL's women's Softball team tra
veled to New Mexico State last week
end for a 20-team invitational and
finished third even though the tour
nament was the Buskers' first
spring competition.
Nebraska v;cj3 5-2 overall in the
tournament. In their first ame, the
Buskers defeated Mesa College of
Colorado 5-1. They then beat Cen
tral State ofNew Mexico 3-1, a team
that Coach Wayne Dar,Ie calls one
of the strongest junior colleges in
the country. Next the Buskers defeat

appointing loss of the weekend was

bounced back and defeated New

tournament team. Turner hit .620
for the tournament, the best cf any
one in the invitational
"Wendy was unstoppable at the
plate. Out of about 25 times at bat,
she made only 2 outs," Da!g!e said.
Schroeder was honored for her
fine defensive effort, Daigle said.
